Re-iterations
The repetition inherent in handwork provides an apt metaphor for the necessary repetition of keeping a home and caring for others. Moths and butterflies represent the beauty and fragility of all life. The mounting pins acknowledge the invitation of pain for the good of another. These works are mulit-generational: artifacts of past generations of women are reinterpreted through my own repetitive actions. The resulting objects are meant to speak into the lives of those who come after me.
